“ Placed an order at 5.15 for 6.30 pick up. Still waiting at 6.45pm. Asked them to check order. Got home 2 dishes were missing. This place used to have a good reputation but since change in ownership/staff no where near as good food and certainly not service. ”
“ Definitely worth the drive from Wells. The staff were very friendly and polite on the phone and in the restaurant. The food tasted excellent and wasn’t all dyed lurid colours like some Chinese takeaways. The food was also not too greasy which I appreciate a lot. Would highly recommend their Vegetable Chow Mein! ”
“ Just the best Chinese food around for miles! We are regulars since we discovered this gem last year. The food is exquisite! Try their fabulous hand made spring rolls and if you’ve never had crispy seaweed I can highly recommend it, it’s not greasy at all , just tiny strands of salty sweetness and incredibly moreish! I always have the vegetarian chow mien and Barry has the chicken version. The service is super swift, just the ticket after a long day. There is always a queue for for their take away service so get there early! ”
“ Have upgraded my 2 star rating after the meal we had last week. Back on form Golden House! It was lovely and I can't wait to eat there again. Have to say tonight I'm disappointed. This place has changed hands recently. The chow mein doesn't have that lovely tasty sauce through it any more, it's the same as any generic chow mein you can get anywhere. And the batter on the sweet and sour chicken was super thick and greasy. Such a shame. I'll be trying it one more time in case it's not been as good due to a busy Saturday night, but if it's the same I won't be going again. My family and I have been a regulars for over 30 years, this is our go to Chinese. Hoping it's a one off ”

The place itself is a little dated but who cares when the food is so delicious. I don't live near this place but I'd be happy to travel here again just for this food alone!! Busy with takeaways and I can see why. Don't look elsewhere for Chinese!! Just go here!!! Thank you guys again.
